In-Private

In-Private is a course designed exclusively by Anglicus,  for second-language learners in their first year of private secondary school. It provides targeted support to help students manage the transition into a demanding English-medium academic environment.

The course focuses on developing the academic vocabulary and language skills needed to access core subjects, enabling students to keep up with lessons, lectures, and subject-specific textbooks from the outset. In addition, it supports learners in understanding the structure and expectations of assessments, guiding them in how to interpret and answer questions effectively in line with an English private school context. By strengthening both comprehension and response skills, the course helps students build confidence, remain engaged in their studies, and avoid falling behind as they adjust to the pace and demands of the system.

Requirements

Learners need to be in Year 1 (or Year 7 in accordance with the British system) of a private English secondary school.

“This programme exists because I have seen many second language students enter private schools and have difficulties keeping up with the accademic language.

Not because they lack ability, but because they lack the accademic language and subject-specific skills required from day one. Students aren’t prepared for how subjects are taught in English. They don’t yet have the vocabulary, confidence or approach needed for core subjects. This programme has been created to bridge that gap.

Built from real experience inside the system, it works alongside students like a co-pilot guiding them step by step, clarifying expectations, and supporting them as they navigate the demands of an English speaking classroom. This isn’t just general English. It’s also focused accademic preparation - designed exclusively by Anglicus - to help students keep up, build confidence and be ready for the real world.
